Neptune’s Moon

In frigid sanctums, deep in NASA’s hold
A frigid Neptune offers up a moon,
‘Til now, kept hidden in that clouded cold
That slept ’round Neptune like a nightmare’s tune.

The shock of meeting new worlds nearly near
Adjoins the shock that Venus’ truth now bears,
For Venus, once thought beautiful and clear,
Now bares its acid substance and its scares.

New moon of cold, meet once-warm sister world!
Oh world misnamed, face radars’s unnamed find!
Flamed goddess, proven now in cold unfurled,
Fake unlit flames to warm this new world’s blind.

Oh, Venus, once thought fragrant, welcome home
As bitter truths now pierce your clouded dome
